Bicentennial Man
Bicentennial Man is one of my favorite film. It’s about “One robot’s 200 year journey to become an ordinary man” according to its tagline. That “One robot” is not any ordinary robot but he’s “Andrew”, my next role model.
[Spoiler warning!]
Andrew is very very well-intended person. He has the ultimate goal of becoming free-willed human. From the beginning of his “emotionally awake”, he has only one thing in his mind and all his life he was trying to accomplish it but it was not easy. He faced many problem but he did not lose his will to pursue his goal util the moment of truth, the moment of officially recognized as human.
He answered the question why he want to be recognized as human by saying “To be acknowledged for who and what I am; no more, no less. Not for acclaim, not for approval, but the simple truth of that recognition has been the elemental drive of my existence and it must be achieved if I am to live or die with dignity.”
[Spoiler end]
Anyone who need a strong-willed and well-intended role model should be watching this film because “Andrew” is the real example of one.
